Trail building Open day

Velocity Bikes and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park invites you to come along to the QE Country Park and be part of the new section of nice flowing single track. This new section will be at the top of the hill to link to the old purple route and will separate walkers from mountain bikers, making it safer and more exciting for all.

You will receive guidance from Ian Warby, (CTC’s Senior Off-Road Development Officer and designer/builder of Aston Hill Bike Park) who will show us the easy and correct way to build trails quickly.

Kick off will be around 10 am on Sunday 29th March with a BBQ at 2 pm ish.

If you what to get down and dirty please email Mike at info@velocitybikes.co.uk
And I will give you further details and updates on the days event.

iv just come back from qe. i rode up to the top car park then rode the new lower bit we did today twice. you said it was bumpy, understatement! but was good fun and nice to ride a bit if trail i helped with. i also followed up the bit you did after i went and its good. then worked my way up to the tree branch/half tree you ride through which is good fun. i under estimated how long that trail was. when i finally got to the top i rode it down. you said it was good it it was Very Happy . it was so worth the climb up. now i know its there i will ride it.
The only thing is that there are alot of small branches and brambles incroching on the trail. I am on the easter hols at the end of next week, so I could spend a couple of hours up there making it more rideable. just cutting back the branches that hit you. I guess i would have to tell some one like max that i was doing it.

Hi Tris

Good to see you up at the park helping out with the new trail. I'm glad you like it and it should get better as it gets riden. So all you MTBers out there, please ride the new section as much as you can so we can see the effects the riding has on it, this needs to be done so we can take out the unwanted bumps and dig some pumps into it. new signs should be going up shortly (just need to push the park for that one).

Also there are two more planned building days, which plenty of notice will be given.
